A place where history whispers and creativity blooms.
Tucked away in the rolling hills of Oberon, NSW, Essington Park is more than a destination—it’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and be nourished by nature, heritage, and heartfelt hospitality. Just 2.5 hours from Sydney, this restored rural retreat is a sanctuary where you can escape the noise of the everyday and step into a world of quiet beauty and authentic connection.
The Shearers Quarters
Once the heart of a working farm, the lovingly restored Shearers Quarters now offer bespoke accommodation for 2–10 guests. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to honour its rich pastoral history while delivering the comfort and elegance today’s traveller expects.
Wake to the gentle sounds of the countryside, as sunlight spills across weathered timbers and crisp linen. Spend your days wandering the grounds, sharing long lunches, or soaking in the peace that only wide open spaces can bring. At night, gather by the fire with a glass of local wine and let conversation flow beneath a sky full of stars.
Inside, you’ll find spaces infused with warmth and character:
- A cozy fireplace to warm cool Oberon evenings
- Gourmet homemade treats and locally sourced provisions
- Optional dinners and lunches prepared by renowned cook and host, Simmone Logue
- Restful bedrooms that echo with stories of generations past
This is a place to gather—with friends, with family, with yourself. It’s a place for creativity and connection. And if the urge to do strikes, there’s so much waiting for you…

A Life Rooted in Place
For over 30 years, Essington Park has been home to Simmone Logue—cook, host, and heart behind this dream. Alongside her twin sister, renowned landscape artist Joanna Logue, she has lovingly restored this property into a place of gathering and joy.
“I’ve built a life here that I adore,” says Simmone. “It’s a pleasure to welcome guests into this special place—to nourish them, to share what I love, and to watch new friendships blossom across the table or around the firepit.”
Essington Park isn’t just about where you stay. It’s about how you feel while you’re here—and long after you’ve left.
