First established in 1874, The Oxford has always been more than a hotel. It’s been a local landmark, a gathering place, and a witness to generations of change.

But like many great places, it needed a new chapter — and it got one.

Over the past two decades, The Oxford has undergone a remarkable transformation. Once known for its late-night club days, it has been reimagined into a multi-level destination unlike anything else in the Central West. Driven by a deep understanding of Bathurst’s evolving needs, our vision has always been to create more than just a place to eat, drink, or stay — but a space for families, sports fans, visitors, and locals alike to come together, connect, and thrive.

Today, The Oxford stands as a vibrant, contemporary hub for food, fun, and community, boasting:

• Two distinctive restaurants – from the authentic Italian dishes at Brocks to the smoky flavours of BTown BBQ.
• A multi-level sports colosseum, perfect for catching every game in full energy.
• A large children’s outdoor playground, where families can relax and kids can explore.
• A bottle shop, rooftop event space, and the only 4am license in Bathurst — making it a go-to for late-night hospitality.

But at the heart of all this growth is something simpler: a connection to place.

After 22 years of running The Oxford and being deeply involved in Bathurst’s hospitality community, we’ve seen firsthand what locals and visitors need — and how hospitality can bring people together. We’ve watched students, families, professionals, and tourists walk through our doors. We’ve hosted weddings, birthday dinners, late-night conversations, and morning coffees. And every interaction helps us shape a space that reflects the spirit of this town.

Success hasn’t come easy. The road was filled with challenges — from massive refurbishments and rebranding to finding the right balance between heritage charm and modern expectations. But with a passionate team of over 60 staff, and unwavering community support, The Oxford is thriving.
