Winterwood Farm

Exceptional horses. Inspiring experiences. Naturally Bathurst.

At Winterwood Sport Horses, you’re not just meeting a horse — you’re stepping into a living philosophy. Nestled at 251 Saint Anthonys Creek Road, just outside of Bathurst, this boutique breeding and training property is where classical art, nature and the majesty of horses meet in perfect harmony.

Established in 2018, Winterwood was born from a dream to combine the beauty of performance art, the intelligence of classical dressage, and the spirit of the Australian landscape. Here, fifth-generation Bathurstian Cath Cox and her team of world-class trainers and horse lovers have created a sanctuary where horses and humans grow together.

From humble beginnings with a vision and a handful of quality mares, Winterwood now stands proud as home to award-winning Hanoverian and Friesian foals — bred not only for beauty, but for temperament, trainability and potential. Every horse here is raised with intention, care and deep respect for its physical and emotional well-being.

At Winterwood, it’s not about rushing. It’s about presence. Here, training is guided by the principles of Functional Classical Training — where biomechanics, balance and the horse’s mental peace are at the heart of every ride. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a newcomer seeking something more soulful, you’ll find an experience that nurtures connection and builds confidence from the ground up.

Looking for your future champion?
Or perhaps a trusted partner, a noble friend, or a special weekend immersed in the world of horses? Winterwood offers bespoke experiences, lessons, clinics, events and sales — all tailored to your needs, and always grounded in integrity and excellence.

A Bathurst legacy, reimagined.
Cath’s family roots run deep into Bathurst soil. Raised on one of the original land grants still held by the Cox family, her vision for Winterwood is inspired by the land itself — its peace, its rhythm, its strength. It’s a place for family, for friends, for quiet magic… and for the kind of beauty that can only come from harmony between horse, human, and nature.

Winterwood Sport Horses – where tradition meets timeless elegance.
Come for the horses, stay for the story. Whether you’re here to learn, to heal, to celebrate, or to simply breathe, Winterwood invites you to rediscover the joy of connection — one graceful step at a time.
